The archives of the Austrian Federal Mining Office show that graphite has been mined at Kaisersberg since 1755. Today the privately owned company Grafitbergbau is operating on the global market and is known for its excellent customer service as well as its solution-oriented approach. Since the 1990s traditional mining practices have been modified and new areas of mining applications have been explored.
